Gender dialogues in Poland – the results

Between November 2024 and March 2025, we conducted five nationwide dialogues on gender relations in Poland. Each three-hour session brought together an equal number of men and women from across the country, representing different generations, social and economic backgrounds, and ideological beliefs.

The purpose of the series was to identify areas of division and common ground on gender issues — a topic that has played a prominent role in Poland’s culture wars over the past decade. The project was partially financed by KRUK SA, a Polish financial services firm, as part of their engagement for gender equality.

The dialogues (in Polish):

SOCIAL ROLES:
Who are we today, as women and men?

ON THE WORKPLACE:
How do we cooperate?

ON MONEY:
Who does the earning, who does the spending?

ON PARENTING:
Do mum and dad raise kids the same way?

ON HOUSEHOLD CHORES:
Does “equal” always mean fair?

The outcomes:

The project has received coverage in newspapers, TV & radio stations and podcasts. 12 domain-specific NGOs, advocating for both women’s and men’s rights in Poland, have joined the project as partners and carried its outcomes on their social media.

Each of the five topics was summarized in a dialogue map, highlighting the specific areas where participants found common ground and where they differed. Participant quotes served both as evidence and as real-life content for social media outreach.
