Poland polarization study – in progress

The NCF has concluded a research partnership with USWPS, Poland’s largest non-public university, to conduct a nationwide study of ideological and affective polarization in the country. The heart of the project is a large poll with questions that cover both political positions on particular topics and citizens’ attitudes towards those holding opposing views.

The project is led by Olga Białobrzeska PhD, a social psychologist at USWPS, NCF board member and lead researcher. The scientific team includes Ben Stanley PhD, a political scientist at USWPS and Marta Żerkowska-Balas PhD, a social scientist specialized in political polling at USWPS. NCF president Wawrzyniec Smoczyński is also on the team.

The polling has been completed 6-16 May, in the week preceding the first round of the presidential election. Results will published in the summer and autumn of 2025. The research work has been financed with NCN grant 2020/39/B/HS6/00853.
